The area is built on the bank of the thermal river that crosses the area. The healing, warm waters, with a constant temperature of 37°C, are gushing from the the mountain for thousands of years, where they create an impressive landscape of mountain and forest. Visitors arrive in the springs from every corner of Greece to receive the beneficial properties of the healing waters (therapeutic – relaxing) and to escape to the beautiful mountains with the waterfalls.
The thermal springs gush at an altitude of 360 -390 m. They are created by the rain water that penetrates into the ground and reaches a deep depth, where it is heated, rises higher and in the course of it is enriched with metals and other ingredients. The healing properties of the water are recommended for circulatory and respiratory diseases, rheumatism, gynecological and skin diseases. It is also sometimes suitable for drinking to tackle liver, kidney, bile, digestive and urinary system diseases.
